The Greenwood Fire Department's rescue boat made it's maiden voyage on Twitchell Pond recently. The boat was purchased this year using funds contributed by the Stephen King Foundation. Firefighter Richard Wicek and Captain Ray Wakefield took the boat on its first trip during a water rescue training exercise with the Bethel Fire Departmant and the Woodstock Fire Department.

The boat is a 12' inflatable and can be rapidly deployed and in the water in under 5 minutes. We will continue to work closely with the Bethel FD water rescue tean and the Woodstock ice rescue team
